About the Dance and Performing Arts Teacher Contractor Agreement Template

The Dance and Performing Arts Teacher Contractor Agreement Template is a template independent contractor agreement between a dance or performing arts studio (Studio) and a Teacher hired as a contractor (not an employee). It is to be used when a Studio engages a Teacher to teach classes at the Studio.

·       Note that this is an independent contractors agreement and it does NOT create the same employment relationship between the parties as an employment agreement. As a result, a Teacher remains responsible for superannuation, insurance, tax and other leave entitlements and can only collect the agreed Price under the Teacher’s agreement. Before using this template, we suggest you review the Australian Tax Office guidelines for an independent contractor to ensure that your proposed contracting arrangement will not be classed as an employee and employer relationship.
