About the Employment Agreement Template for Dance & Performing Arts Teacher

The Employment Agreement Template for Dance & Performing Arts Teacher is a template agreement between a studio and a teacher, either dance and/ or performing arts. It has been designed specifically for dance and performing arts studios across Australia (New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory)

This template:

·       is a general template drafted for Australian laws and is ideal for dance studio and performing arts studios owners;

·       can be used for a casual teacher or a permanent (part time or full time) teacher, the option for either is included in the table at the front of the Employment Agreement.

·       Includes superannuation in addition to (not included as part of) the hourly rate.

·       Makes reference to the Fitness Industry Award 2020 which covers dance and performing teachers/ instructors.

2.     For permanent (part-time or full-time employee) you need to give them a copy of the Fair Work Information sheet with their contract, available here: https://www.fairwork.gov.au/employment-conditions/national-employment-standards/fair-work-information-statement

3.     You will also need to give your employee the following forms with their contract or soon after:

Instructions for use

The document is in word format and easy to download - once you download it, you can use it multiple times, but please do not pass it on to any other dance studio friends as you have a right to use it for your business but not share around as this breaches our copyright-protected content. While you can change the agreement, it is suggested that you keep the changes to the parts in red text, because it has been drafted by an experienced lawyer.

·       Complete the table (Schedule) and signing pages by inserting the details in red text and badge with your logo to make it on brand for your studio;

·       review the document; and

· Both parties to review, sign, and date on the last page (the Signing Page).
